The week will include the following activities:
• Field trip to Poplar Museum & Cultural Center to observe examples of indigenous culture
• Indigenous arts and crafts activities such as beading and leatherwork
• Indigenous foods and cooking projects
• Montana history activities at Richland County library Montana room
• Montana history reading materials
• Participation in the nationwide collaborative reading of the US Declaration of Independence
• Invitation and inclusion of local veterans to join Club members for lunch
• Tour of the US flag facility at Veteran’s Park
• Promotion of the Club activities through local print and social media channels
• Field trip to Glendive to visit the Dinosaur Museum and Makoshika Park.
• Projects about Montana geography and dinosaur exploration
The grant funds would help underwrite the expenses for the field trips, program materials, and veteran’s luncheon as well as a percentage of staff preparation/implementation time, and indirect costs. Promotion and advertising would also be included in grant fund expenditures.
